Phuket, 220-room spa resort: one week of housekeeping demand SMS|Host by Springer-Miller already saw

A spa resort rostered 26 villa attendants every day. Sunday and Monday changeovers of week-long stays emptied half the villas at once and ran into overtime, while Wednesday and Thursday paid for ten attendants who refreshed towels. The stay lengths that predicted the pattern were already in SMS|Host.

Setup

Go live in three steps

HotelCadence only reads · counts and dates only, no guest names or payment details · your SMS|Host administrator can switch it off at any time.

  1. 1

    Authorize read-only access

Your Springer-Miller contact switches on the connection for the properties you start with, or we set up a scheduled export together where that is quicker. HotelCadence only reads; it never changes anything in SMS|Host.

  2. 2

    Load history and check accuracy

HotelCadence loads up to two years of booking history from SMS|Host by Springer-Miller and checks its daily and hourly forecasts per department against what your hotel recorded, so accuracy is proven on your own numbers before anyone rosters against it.

  3. 3

    Go live and measure

Forecasts refresh as bookings change, and draft rosters flag shifts that no longer match demand. Managers approve every roster, and you measure results monthly against the starting point you agreed.

SMS|Host by Springer-Miller integration questions, answered

How long does a SMS|Host by Springer-Miller integration take?

The one step that sets the pace is your SMS|Host administrator switching on the connection; loading history and checking forecast accuracy run alongside it. The connection is part of onboarding, and we confirm how your installation connects before you commit to anything.

Which SMS|Host systems does HotelCadence connect to?

SMS|Host is the resort property management system from Springer-Miller Systems, the software a resort front desk uses to hold bookings, stay lengths, departures, group and spa bookings, and the system HotelCadence reads to forecast demand per department. SMS|Host connects live or through a scheduled export, agreed with you before any commitment. Stay lengths, departures, group bookings and spa bookings feed the forecast per department.

We run multiple outlets, banquets and a spa, can you staff more than rooms?

Yes. Occupancy, arrivals and covers drive per-department forecasts: front office, housekeeping, each F&B outlet, stewarding, spa. Every department gets its own hourly demand line and its own draft roster, approved by its own department head.

Does HotelCadence change anything in SMS|Host by Springer-Miller?

No. HotelCadence only reads. Rates, bookings, guest profiles and group bookings in SMS|Host by Springer-Miller are never touched. Forecasts and draft rosters live in HotelCadence, where managers review and approve them.

Where does our data live, and what about guest privacy?

HotelCadence needs counts, dates, rates and guest segments, never guest names or payment details. Data is hosted in your region, with Singapore as the default for Asia-Pacific and dedicated options for chains of 10 or more properties.

Part of our group runs OPERA Cloud, Mews or Shiji, can one roll-out cover both?

Yes. Each property connects through its own system, SMS|Host by Springer-Miller here, OPERA Cloud, Mews, Cloudbeds or Shiji elsewhere, and the whole group rolls up into one view with the same per-department, per-hour forecasts and one measurement method. See the hotel chain software page for the group layer.
